get more than we ask, Tozer says: “He gives, but in giving He gives us Himself too. And the best gift God ever gives us is Himself” (p. 24). This is reminiscent of the discovery that A. B. Simpson found later in his ministry—a discovery he put into verse: Once it was the blessing, Now it is the Lord; Once it was the feeling, Now it is His Word.
